Introduction to Kratom

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia, primarily Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. The leaves contain compounds called alkaloids, with mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine being the most significant.

History and Traditional Use:

Kratom has been used for centuries in Southeast Asia. Workers traditionally chewed the leaves for energy during long labor, while others used it for relaxation and wellness purposes.

How Kratom Works:

The alkaloids in kratom interact with opioid receptors in the brain, but kratom is NOT an opioid. At lower doses, it tends to produce stimulating effects. At higher doses, it tends to produce more sedating effects.

Legal Status:

Kratom is legal at the federal level but regulated or banned in some states and municipalities. Always verify your local laws and our store's specific policies.

Important Disclaimers:

  • Kratom is NOT FDA approved for any medical use
